2019 Living Rosary Advent-Christmas Devotion

This devotion calls us to contemplate the gift of Christ in The Joyful Mysteries.

What is this Devotion?

Founded and sanctioned in 1826, it was inspired to pull together a group of people, where each person prayed a specific decade of The Rosary every day on their own in their own home and collectively, all completed the entire Rosary every day.

What are its benefits?

It’s not as lengthy as praying the full rosary, as you are praying only one decade every day.

Each person prays in their own time and place but are actually a part of a group.

You have more time to contemplate or “sit with Mary” in the mystery perhaps.

The scripture texts may help you to enter into the event, but they can be used as you wish.

How does this devotion work?

Each person begins at a different decade and your starting decade is circled here - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th. (Madonna Image)

Start daily with: Sign of the Cross, Creed, Our Father, 3 Hail Marys, Glory Be, then your Mystery.

Pray your specific decade daily for one week before you move on to the next decade the

following week. Pray only that decade for a week and continue on in this manner until all

5 decades are completed during this 5-week Advent -Christmas Devotion.

The Scriptural Rosary texts give us a means to contemplate the gift of the event or persons.

This Devotion begins Sunday December 1st until Saturday January 4th.

Mary desires to lead us to The Christ Child through this short devotion.
