Budget Report
First off, thank you for your continued financial support of MMOC. As I’m sure you are aware, we count on your contributions to pay our expenses and maintain this building and property. Three large expenses that I would like to point out are: Salaries & benefits - $241,000, annual building insurance $30,000, and snow clearing $27,500.
We finished last year with a slight deficit of $2,912 and once again our budget for 2025 is projecting a slight shortfall of $4,282. The contributing factors to the 2024 shortfall were unexpected expenses such as: new alarm system, new vacuum, new photocopiers, and new staff computers.
So, how do we erase this deficit… well there are really only 2 ways:
1. We need to see an increase in Sunday offerings and
2. We need to increase our contributions from fundraising.
Sunday Offerings – Once again we are extremely grateful for every offering we receive. However, if every family was able to increase their Sunday offering by a cup of Tim Hortons medium coffee, we would see a significant increase to overall contributions of $195,000. We also understand and appreciate that this is not something everyone can afford.
We have also created a fundraising committee, and we will be having 4 fundraisers this year to help us build up our Building Fund account for upcoming major expenses. Some of these projects are as follows: roof repairs, drainage issues by the front entrance, and parking lot repairs, to name a few. Stay tuned for more information in the coming months.
In addition, if you haven’t done so, we encourage you to register yourself and your family with the Parish Office. When you register, you will have the choice to make regular donations to the parish using assigned envelopes or you can sign up for preauthorized debits from your bank account. These types of contributions allow the church to issue a donation receipt to you after the calendar year which you can claim as a credit on your personal tax return.
Thank you again for your continued generosity.
