Want to learn how to Evangelize?
Sharing your faith with others can be scary, but it is more simple and natural than you think!
The very first evangelization workshop was held on June 7th, 2017. Discussed were some basic questions about evangelization:
- What is evangelization?
- What does evangelization look like?
- Who is called to evangelization?
- Who are we called to evangelize?
Our workshops in the future will be focused on introducing some practical tools and tips on how to share our faith with the people in our lives.
In the meantime, do not hesitate to contact Michelle Buissé if you want to know more about Evangelization. And have a read below for a little summary of what evangelization is all about.
“In the Church's history, missionary drive has always been a sign of vitality, just as its lessening is a sign of a crisis of faith [...] For missionary activity renews the Church, revitalizes faith and Christian identity, and offers fresh enthusiasm and new incentive. Faith is strengthened when it is given to others!” Mission of the Redeemer, St. Pope John Paul II
The above quote is from an encyclical St. Pope John Paul II wrote during his pontificate. All over the world, the parishes that are the most alive, the most renewed, are those with a missionary zeal. Therefore, one of the biggest parts of our parish growth and renewal initiative is Evangelization.
We will be continuing this ministry in September by concentrating on the fundamentals of our Christian Catholic faith: the simple Gospel message.
Sometimes we get so caught up in doing stuff (like going to Mass, praying, being good) that we forget the whole point of faith is having a relationship with God! So, we’ll be immersing ourselves in the fundamentals through a weekly program called Alpha in the fall.
For more information about Alpha, check out our Alpha at Mary, Mother of the Church page.
